ANU is a world-leading university in Australia’s capital, with excellence embedded in their approach to research and education. Seeking to attract the world’s finest minds, the project objective was to create a productive and inspiring onsite experience for ANU’s College of Health and Medicine.
The key challenges we faced were:
1. Developing effective and enjoyable onsite user journeys for four connected websites, with ten distinctive user groups.
2. Creating an integrated Information Architecture and content structure that provided a platform for expressing the College's core narrative of collaboration.
3. Ensuring the user experience was hallmarked with the feeling of impact and innovation throughout the website journey.
The Challenge
Working with the education and technology agency Hybrid, we developed a transformative research and development project plan, to drive an effective online website ecosystem. Activities included:
Auditing and User Research:
We executed research gathering and insight creation across user group interviews, website audits, and google analytics. All information was distilled down into a usable format for informing recommendations.
User Personas:
Comprehensive user personas were created. These included critical information such as scenario mapping, user goals, pain points, and beneficial content and functionality, all required to make good strategic UX design choices.
Information Architecture:
We reimagined the Information Architecture of all four websites, creating an ecosystem of interconnected content that considered the needs of a range of stakeholders. Filling in the gaps and giving opportunity for better engagement.
Prototyping:
The project concluded with a wireframe prototype that allowed the the team to test and explore how to get the maximum added value from the insight that had been gathered, ahead of investing in website UI design and development.
